Building Trade Reviews

Lots of youngster that are currently finishing school are now looking at what step to take next – this can be a very confusing time for a young person as its likely that their decisions now will affect them for many years to come. Some may choose to go to college and some may choose to find full time employment, however there is also the option of apprenticeships.

An apprenticeship is a program that someone of the age between 16-19, will enter employment into a trade, generally, plastering, plumbing, tiling or something of that sort. The employer will then train them up within the industry as well as allowing day release in order for the apprentice to gain a professional qualification in the trade. However, although at one point they were very popular and therefore very difficult to find them, this is no longer the case. These days though there are many apprenticeships available, but no-one taking them. This is due to the fact that the pay is minimal – generally around £90 per week. This is not a lot to live off, especially if they apprentice has their own home.

An apprenticeship is still a very good idea, regardless of pay, with the scarcity of job in the current climate; it would be wise to gain a trade as soon as possible for young school leavers.
